As for me, to review a big hit is useless, everybody know about that games and what they are all about.
So for me only underated games come in question.
So I vote for
E X E R I O N
The name alone is awsome and so was the graphics back in 1983....and even today I think this game would get paid a lot of attention.
From what I know it is the first game with a parallax background...which worked in an awsome way.
Another great new features was that the designers added an inertia-effect to the ship which gave the ship a feeling of mass and weight.
Whats not to love on this game.
Equipped with two heavy weapons, a dual canon and a gattling in the center (it also sounds gattling-like) you fight above the surface of strange planets.
The enemies attack in chains, so if your timing is perfect you destroy the first to the last alien-ship with one good salve, PA-PA-PA-PA
I would look forward to see the TenPenceArcade-podcast graphic Exerion-nized.
