Hey gang, found your site while reading stuff on the Dragon's Lair Fans forum, so thought I would sign up and say hey.

Looks like a great forum, I'll try to be active and contribute what I can.

Bit about me, I am an arcade fan obviously, I have a few cabs, none dedicated though, we didn't really get any down here :( but at the moment I have a Golden Axe, Silkwork, Point Blank, World Rally, Crazy Kong Cocktail, an Atomiswave with a 60in1 and a Mame machine. Also an Austin Powers Pinny.

The other thing that keeps me broke and time poor is the 1979 RS2000 escort i am trying to restore. I've had it for 20 years and it has not turned a wheel in 19!!!

Anyway, I'm off to read more and ogle your cabs :D

Hi and welcome. World Rally is one of my favourite games. Also nice car the RS2000. Wouldn't have thought there were many in Australia. Last time I looked at UK prices which was about 3 or 4 years ago. You were looking at about £10000 for a tidy one.

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I'll grab a photo or 2 of the RS today when I get out to the shed. It's not in a great way at the moment, thus the restore, but it's cool to have.

It's one of the "droop snoot" ones, you know the type, plastic nosecone, twin headlights. It's a 4 door! Now I know you might go "pfft! Thats crap mate" but Australia is the only place the 4 door was available, and of course they were far less popular in the day than the 2 door so there are far fewer of them :) Thats what I like about it

I have all the original parts for it thankfully, as in my youth I was determined to destroy it by getting all that "stock factory crap" off and putting after market gear on.

Almost went down the zetec path after spending too much time on the turbosport forums! Thankfully common sense grabbed hold and the original 2.0ltr pinto is still in there.

Most of the RS2000's had the droop snoot. Think they made a handful without, the idea been they were easier to repair if you were doing competition use. What you see above is a BDA powered RS1800. Built new by Dave Sutton. It was for the 2008 McRae stages rally in Scotland. It was the first one held after Colin's untimely death. Ari Vatanen is driving and co driver is Dave Richards. It was just like going back 30 years.
