Hi, I joined a few months ago but this is only my first post.
I'm also a member on JAMMA+ & Arcade Otaku, but I don't post very often on either.
I've been a van of video games since I was 4 years old & got a Commodore 64 for Christmas. I played in loads of arcades as a child, both in my home town (Wisbech) and every single holiday I went on.
Then the mid-90's happened, fruit machines took over, but my dream of owning an arcade cab never died. It did take a long time to come to fruition though. 2 years ago, I found a generic woody in the Peterborough market junk shop with a Football Champ PCB (what else!).
Things have exploded since then though, I now have three woodys, a 2-player gun cab, a Sega Rally upright cab, a NEO-GEO 1 slot and a selection of MVS carts and PCB's. My technical knowledge is very limited but my passion is huge. So much so that I'm attempting to make a business out of this.
Me and 2 of my friends are setting up an experience for festivals/club nights/events that includes visuals, a cinema and my arcade cabinets and games for people to enjoy and play. It was attempted on a very small scale last year, and this year we're really going for it. The highest profile event we've been booked in to do is the Boomtown Fair festival, so if anyone on here is going, come check us out. We're yet to finalise the name for this multifaceted beast yet so I'll get back to you on that.
I'm happy to be with another group of like minded arcade fans.
