Would appreciate some help in the right direction. :)

Kortek 19” KTM-F. Worked perfectly for years. Suddenly when playing, black screen, a rather high pitched beep, when pulling the plug the pitch slowly fades.

No high voltage, black screen.

I changed the flyback to an identical part number - exactly the same issue.

Any knowledgeable pointers are greatly appreciated! HOT, some cap, thinking about the pitched sound?
Thanks!

That's good to hear! Actually if it's the chassis i'm thinking of (might be the standard 120v non-free voltage version) there's also a cap that goes wrong as I think it takes a bit of a hammering for whatever reason. Also the silkscreening is wrong for it on the chassis so it's very easy to put a new one in backwards if you don't watch the orientation of the original, which explodes when you switch the power on! It's one of the ones next to the three pin plug going to the neckboard if I remember correctly. I think the positive side of the cap goes on the negative pad (not 100% sure, haven't worked on one for a while!) I'm guessing the one you changed was probably a 1uf 250v or something like that? The one near the flyback is nearly always worn out or dead on MTC9000's for example.
