[ukvac] HELP G07 in Defender Shaking Horizontally
The last few days my G07 has started shaking in the horizontal (left -
right) plane. at first it was hardly noticeable, but now at times you
can't even play the game.(

Has anyone any ideas on a possible problem?
Could it be a sync problem, caused by the output from the Defender
CPU/video board? I can test this as I have a set of staragte boards I
can fit.

I have an electronics background, but I know absoloutely nothing
about monitors! I should have no probs getting test equipment.

The monitor also has the following minor problems:

Edge of picture does not reach right hand side.
The usual burn in (from a Missile Command!)
Everything slopes slightly downhill from left (highest) to right
The blue is slightly high and right of the others, getting worse at
the bottom of the screen.

By coincidence I've just been dontaed a manual for it!
(thanks Ivan) hope it arrives soon.

If anyone has a good G07 that they can sell me (in UK only please) let
me know.

Thanks in advance )

Dave

I'll keep you informed . . . I asked around a few of the guys at work who
know about CRT's and they recon it'll be a Capacitor about to go down?

To be honest I'd sooner swap it for a *nice* G07 (or a NEW monitor if this
is possible) as mine has a few niggling problems and is the main thing that
lets my Defender/Stargate Down, but fixing is of course an option too.

I know <NOTHING> about this but on the arcade mailing list they're
discussing a similar problem and the answer is always the same....
