Not sure if this is necessary or rule of thumb, but since I've just registered here I will do a small introduction......
I'm André, 39 years old and live in The Netherlands.
I've been a videogame fan for the most part of my life. A couple of years ago I discovered the hobby of making a MAME cabinet, and since "built" one myself (well actually I bought a finished cab, but everything else I did myself
)
I've been a long time member of the BYOAC forum and registered under the same name there.
Of course, after having played the MAME cab for quite some time, I started to get interested in the real thing: I had to have some real arcade cabs !
I'll just make a short list of what I've got so far to keep the story short:
- Atari Dominos (1976) => No PCB, no work done yet
- Pleiads Cocktail => No PCB, no work done yet
- Galaxian => Great working order, almost completely restored
-Mario Bros. (in red Radarscope cab) => Received a PCB set for it, untested yet. Monitor needs to be rotated and tested. This cab comes from the UK, so the seller told me.
- Centipede => Very nice condition. PCB defective. Needs new CPO and controls reworked/new
- Star Wars Cockpit => Still need to pick it up. Monitor defective...
I still need to build a gameroom, which is now in the planning fase.
Since my attention has shifted mainly from MAME to real cabs, I figured it would be a good idea to register here.
I would really like to join a UK meeting in the future !
