I'm still working, no change here, I just get on with it to be honest. Looking back I had a really bad dose of flu last October which would
have knocked anyone for six, Shane can testify to that as I gave it to
him! I did warn him I had a bad flu beforehand though.
I'm surrounded by people all the time and there's nothing I can really do about it. I'm not living my life in fear. I quickly made the decision to carry on working and not depend on grants/benefits/furlough. I'm lucky and grateful my job is pretty safe due to the industry I'm in so I just soldier on.
My Mom doesn't want me to visit her as she doesn't want to catch the flu after being scared sensless by the BBC and SKY news and I gracefully respect her wishes. I try to explain that there's a big difference between dying 'with' and dying 'from' the virus and it's highly unlikely she will catch it by taking a walk in the park but she still doesn't want to leave the house in fear of catching it. I'm obviously not being irresponsible either so I respect my Mom's and other peoples wishes if they choose to self isolate and avoid contact with other human beings.
I eat foods that boost my immune system, drink plenty of water, try to avoid people who obviously have a flu, use hand sanitiser if I've touched loads of stuff and get plenty of fresh air and sunshine. I do what I can to be sensible and that's all I can do, simply because I'm not putting my faith in a vaccine funded by Bill Gates or Rupert Murdoch that has even worse side effects. Herd immunity is better in the long run imo.
I find people are generally responsible, but obviously you do get the odd person
who is taking satisfaction from other peoples fear and uncomfort. There seems to be more armed police on the streets of Birmingham so maybe they will sort them out?
I don't believe everything said in the media, but I don't discount everything either.
It's sad people have died from this flu, but all throughout history people have died from all sorts of flu. Nature has a way of controlling the population naturally, it's really unfortunate that people have suffered.
I'm not trying to downplay how this situation has affected people because it has affected many people in many terrible and difficult ways, but, after researching both sides of the coin for myself I just use some common sense and take whatever precautions I can to try and avoid catching and spreading this flu.
We can all get through this, and not everyone will agree with my outlook, but, whatever road you choose please be safe.
