Whilst in Budapest last week took some time out from the Sziget festival to visit the Hungarian Pinball Museum (flippermuzeum.hu)Entrance costs 2500huf which is about £6 and gives you access to about 130 machines all set to freeplay.
Although I own an LW3 machine it's about the only machine I've played since the 90's when my local pub had a couple of machines that they changed every few months, so it was great to see and play some of the machines from BITD. Guns and roses, star wars, Indiana jones, fish tales the list goes on. Played a lot of machines I've never played before some old EMs and other newer machines.
They have a lot more machines in storage ,unfortunately two of my favourites, TOM and Harlem Globetrotters . But this didn't spoil the enjoyment and after over 6 hours the wife reminded me we had to get back to see Limp Bizkit , so reluctantly I left.
So if you are visiting Budapest I would highly recommend a visit.

I was going to pop into this place on a recent weekend in Budapest back in June, but it was shut on the Sunday I was planning to go unfortunately. Looks worth a visit.

The museum was closed down in May because of a dispute with the tax authorities who classed the pinball tables as gambling machines.Thankfully after a court ruling it reopened in August.

Just back from my weekend in Budapest and managed to squeeze in a visit. I was really impressed - a very smart venue and some very unique machines. The back room with the MM was for private hire only, but there was still an amazing collection for the everyday punter. Even found a couple of vids lurking...

Highly recommended - thanks for the tip Squidgy!
