Hi all

I'm very new to the hobby (just over 12 months), but very much enjoying the collecting and learning. Started out last year with a good old '90s shooter for the wife:

This was followed very quickly by a mini-DK cab from Chris with a 60-in-1 inside (little one loves is, especially Rally-X), which I finally got around to painting earlier this year:

The amazing work by Ken (fatgst) and James (RGP) then led to my most wanted purchase, a Nintendo cab. This was quickly followed by a second Nintendo cab. Before these had made their way over the ocean, Olly (muddymusic) then supplied my first upright racer, Top Speed:

and then finally, my Nintendo's landed in the UK and were kindly delivered by Martin this week:

The plan for the Nintendo's is to convert one back to a Donkey Kong and keep the other as a .VS Unisystem (as I've bought way too many .VS games to not keep it as is). I'm going to put a project thread together for the de-conversion of the one .VS Unisystem and another for the tidy up of the other.

out of interest what do the plates say the Nintendo cabinets were/are?

They're both MDS conversion plates. Neither have the original plates (although I'm sure the instructions in the conversion packs say to leave the original plate on).

I have a DK serial plate for my DK de-conversion project luckily.

Both have the original TKG-UP instruction sheets on the inside of the back door.

ok.. stupid question.. what's a MDS conversion plate? Is it a plate supplied with the conversion kit which you would place on back of cabinet 'underneath or around' the original plate?
Have you a picture of it?

Sorry, a typo on my part. The plates are MGS plates and were supplied with the conversion kits and supposed to be affixed underneath or above the original:

That's good going for 12 months! I love seeing how many of the Ninty cabs are coming in to the UK these days. I can't imagine the demand for them ever dropping.

Thanks Olly! I do want more Ninty's, but there's only so much I can get away with at once! I NEED orange and red cabs next (DKJr, MB, DK3)

quick work! looks like a nice collection. Did you find everything on forums and/or ebay?

Everything from these forums (except Area 51 which if I remember correctly was from the JAMMA+ forums)
