Hi guys....

I have a horizontal collapse issue (vertical line on screen) on this monitor. I’ve dealt with vertical collapse many times, but this is the first of these I’ve ever had.

I can’t seem to find a schematic for this chassis - so any help would be appreciated. I’ve checked for dry joints, and the width coil isn’t damaged. I was going to re-cap the monitor, but any tips would be great.

Thank you!

That is my manual, I have just taken snap shots of it. I could do a full scan for you (I’m busy) but in the interim I’ll post some more photos for you

Hi guys,

sorry for digging up an old thread, but this is the only reference to this manual that I've yet found online :).

I recently got a cab with a KORTEK KTM-F20 chassis in it, and while I've found several scanned manuals of very similar models, they don't match exactly. Especially in the "main board layout" section, it's way different on all PDF's I've found so far. But this one seems to match 100%.

So, big question is, jonhughes - did you ever got around to scan this one for us? You would do us a huge favor! As an option, I'd be happy to pay for postage if you'd like to send it.

Big thank you in advance. Cheers

Peter

I also have this exact same manual. It came with my 14” Kortek monitor.

I could scan mine as a PDF if it helps you.

Oh, hi qjuk, thanks for stepping in :).

I would truly LOVE that! I find it quite disturbing that I lack the manual to such a vital part of my hobby as my arcade monitor :).

I'd truly appreciate it. Many thanks in advance :)

Cheers

I’ve sent you a PM.

Looks like the Kortek manual is for the 14” and 20” monitors.

Edit 07/04/24: I've been asked a few times for this manual and thanks to the new forum, I can now add the file as an attachment :)

Kortek chassis remind me of the old IBM Monitors as they used to go bang in ya face at switch on, had to use variac to power em up until you seen the smoke and turn back down before the bang

I've got 2 Kortek chassis I got working and then find I don't have suitable tubes for them as not replacement for Hantarex
Do you mean they're the high impedance type (like the one above)? You can tell if it's a high impedance chassis by looking at the vertical deflection area. If there's a multilegged TDA1675 chip same as what they use on the Hantarex MTC9000, it's for a standard low impedance yoke. If it's got two separate transistors instead, it need a high impedance yoke. You can convert certain yokes to high impedance, for example someOrion crt yokes can be converted easily by swapping a couple of winding wires on the yoke itself where it solders to the yoke wire connection terminals.
