Megadrive to Vectrex Controller conversion

Has anyone done a Megadrive to Vectrex controller conversion?

Just looking at it myself at the moment, but looks like it will require a lot of track cuts on the LEFT/RIGHT/UP/DOWN buttons

Would be interested to see anyone else's attempt

Given the price of Vectrex controllers nowadays looks like it is a good option

I don't think the MD controller is really that suitable as it has no analog control.

Hardly necessary to hack up a good PSX stick though.

Interface the PSX using an AVR and have it drive a R-2R ladder to feed the opamps.

there's only a few vectrex games which use the original vectrex controller in an 'analog' way, most of the games use it as if it was a digital stick, so you can just hack any basic digital gamepad and play almost everything available (when you push a direction on the D-PAD it just registers as that direction being fully on).
i made one a while back; i used a quickshot gamepad bought off ebay cheap, works great:
