Yeah saw this. Interesting bit of kit. Looking forward to the new Xbox reveal later this month. This generation has gone on waaaaay too long. Hope they show/ announce some new games though. Not really seen anything to get exited about with the possible exception of Destiny from Bungie! Need a game that rewrites the rule book. Can't remember the last time I played a game and was blown away. New generation= new possibilities though so fingers crossed.....

Interesting but a bit whacky too....... for stuff to fall out of the tv surely you would need some kind of 3d goggles - not sure if it would feel right..... For simple stuff like pointing out off screen snipers or goodies though or adding extra ambience and a bit of vision..... that's cool.... just don't over sell the tech....

Agree, while it looks pretty cool, its also pretty crazy! I wonder if it will come to light, and how much it will add to the gaming experience, i mean a good game is a good game right? for example you can add all matter of bells and whistles but you could argue that something like super mario world on the snes on a 19" crt tv is completely immersive and enjoyable without any gimmicks, but maybe thats not enough for the younger gamer?

Well I'm SOLD!...but...

....with a reservation or two. I was burned by Kinect (remember 'Milo & Kate'?)....possibly the worst £130 I've ever spent just to get a better feeling of motion around corners in Forza

This looks amazing but they had better support it and deliver on the obvious potential; at least in 1st Party games...

Hmm, I'm not sold...

Firstly, I admit, I was like WOW!! Fook me, etc.

Then I was like, hang on, I feel sick just watching this video so it'd be no good for me - I felt really sick when I setup Skyrim on 3 x 24" monitors over Xmas, so I know it's just me, but all the same.

Lastly, as we got towards the end, I twigged something. What exactly is the point?? In the end, it all boils down to extending the picture beyond the screen. Just buy a projector and use your whole wall - that's essentially how it ended up at the end.

OK, so there were some effects in there that were way more than just a bigger than TV experience, but for the most part that was what I felt it was

Will keep an eye on it if I can get over my motion sickness though.

Holy crap I'm sold! They had me with tracer fire from the fps - let alone rendering portal around the tv - gob-smacking! And there was me thinking I wouldn't be interested in the next-gen consoles!

Looks great!
I've got 2 sets of AMBX lights on my PC (with a 3rd set that I haven't got room or spare USB connection for at the moment), and I was really impressed with how much the add to a game (especially if it's been written specifically to use them, which alas there aren't many of..), but even just the colour changes based on screen content is good. Same if watching video content in VLC or other player that supports it. This Illumiroom seems to take that a whole lot further, looks a bit like a home version of those impressive full building projection shows you see on youtube etc.
