We cover Mr. Do!'s second outing in our latest show. He's ditched the maze for platforms, and the powerball for a f**kin' great hammer.

Another
excellent episode Guys. We'd be lost without you.

Remember the days when we'd
endure 30 minutes of rubbish on the telly for a 10 second glimpse of an arcade
game? Not now. We don't have to. You spoil us. In fact, the more I think about
it, the more it seems you're easing our transition to a fully digital existence
- ultimately as disembodied brains lined up in jars on laboratory shelves. Oh
no!

Talking of
shelves, I'm afraid I'm gonna havta shelve my participation in the next
hi-score challenge. Magical Spot 2 isn't in my MAME set-up, and I'm off on
holiday a manana, so I won't have time to sort it out. But I'll leave you with
this. Please read it out in a pirate accent:

Rygarr is a
big fan of pirates. He certainly love his Cornish pasties if that's anything to go by ;-) Yes, he knows all about 'em. But what about you? What do ee
know?

How many letters are there in the pirate alphabet?

Stop reading
if you don't want to know the answer

There are
two:

X - marks
the spot

And
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

We'll not
mention all those cease and desist letters the average modern pirate gets from
Nintendo!

Great podcast gentlemen, I only managed to have a quick go on the Mr Do's Castle, but defo is a game I'll revisit when I have time, rather enjoyed it. Magical Spot 2 on the other hand was rock hard, so my quick 10min session has produced a poor score no doubt. My mate has a lovely Magical Spot cabinet, a thing of beauty, but it is only now that I've actually played the game. Seems relentless, you just have to keep moving.

Wassup kids! The next podcast should be out Halloween and we'll be discussing Magical Spot 2 AND Rootin' Tootin', so if you haven't seen it on Facebook or Twitter the next game to play is Rootin' Tootin' and the deadline for scores is Tuesday 29th Oct 5pm UK time.

Rootin' Tootin'

Default settings

ROM: 'clapapa'

Get parping! (you play as a trombone, so that is relevant). Magical Spot 2 final scores here:

Rootin Tootin? Never seen this one before, which is surprising, 'coz it starts with R, which as we know is one of the best letters in the Mame alphabet. Think about it. Robotron, Raiden, Rastan, R-Type, Rygar... But it's a good job I had to wait 114 seconds for it to load in. Without that initial time investment, I doubt I'd have given it a fair chance. On first play, Rootin Tootin seems shallow and simplistic. I mean, even the names of the characters are 'cringe'. But when you figure out how to use the invisibility button, the dynamic changes completely. The possibility of setting up notes to hit the baddies makes it a really challenging and fun game to play. It's a great pick! I'm sure I'll play it a lot in the future, but I've got a busy weekend, so here's my best score so far in case I don't get the chance before the deadline: 50,100

EDIT. Paaaaaaaaaarp: 60,240

Finally got round to catching up on some podcasts and had a good binge.

Apologies for not giving you feedback on the Mr. Do pod in particular, but thanks for the mention.

Anyway the standard is still as high as ever and look forward to the next one, I'll try and listen to them a bit more frequently!

Oh I saw this on a YT video, I never knew Shaun was involved with rare vector games...

Rootin Tootin is interesting, shame i didnt have enough time to play it.
Tried to hack my Vita to bring it on holidays but didnt get it done on time.

Now have it done so have a very capable handheld system for all Retroarch and mame games.
