Hi everyone!
Thought I would share my MAME cab with you all.
I sadly dont have the room like some of you (nor the accepting Ms!) to have a ton of games around the house. (one day, one day they shall be mine....) So I had to make do with a MAME cab to play as much as possible instead!

So I built my cab originally years ago and it started off a humble project, Standard 2p 6 button cab for playing Genesis, SNES and MAME games and of course had a CRT to display it all on ;)

Years later though my wallet and ambitions got a little bigger even though my house got smaller and its been through some changes.
Sadly my original CRT died after many moons of good service and if Ime honest I didnt want the hassle of trying to source another and then remounting etc so I swapped it out for a TFT with a SLG so I could keep the authentic look but also much much lighter to move around!
Its also now fitted with LED buttons, 4/8 way switchable mag sticks, A spinner for playing spinnery type games (I love Arkanoid) and a pair of Aim Trak guns becasue I love gun games!
Oh and a coin mech because I love the feeling you get pushing that change home with the clunk of it hitting the coin box LOL.

I have a feeling you won't be the only one to say that jimmi!
Having said that mame's CRT filters/shaders seem to be progressing slowly.
One day they'll get there.. maybe...

Looks like you've done a pretty good job there for a mame build well done.

A nice tidy Mame machine... but you need to get a CRT back in there!!

I think he already knows it would look better with crt but I'm sure he appreciates your advice.

Ha yes the CRT would of been better but as we all know they are damn heavy and the Ms has to move it to clean (though it is on castors) and they are getting harder to find.
I was pretty gutted if I am honest when my CRT died but it is what it is.

As for the Holsters they are the same ones AWUK sells, I cut the bolts off the bottom, Re painted them and then side mounted them using UHB tape.
I would of liked to of bolted them through but the AT's are quite wide so they would of caught most bolts.
But in hind sight if I was to do some again I would probably use joystick carriage bolts as they would probably be slim line enough to not catch.
