Around 10 years ago, I did a write up on ARCADE OTAKU about acquiring and restoring FOUR Jaleco Pony II 28”. In a later post here, I will bring it into a UKVAC thread but if you want to see it now, search on Google (Hitesh Jaleco Pony). The thread was lively with 70+ posts.
This thread…… PART 01…… is showing the bootup & shutdown of the two machines I still have.
The one on the LEFT is based on WINDOWS 7 Embedded 64 Bit.
This cabinet is a TWO PLAYER.
The one on the RIGHT is based on WINDOWS XP 32 BIT.
This cabinet is a ONE PLAYER with SPINNER Controller.
Both cabinets do not get Windows complaining that “Computer was not shut down properly” due to ENHANCED WRITE FILTER on Windows 7 and XP does not complain without any mods or software.
The WIN 7 boot is slightly faster than XP.
Worth noting:
The cabinets are switched on and off using a remote controlled plug that I got from Wilko though there are many more variations on Amazon.
The COMPUTER MANUFACTUER LOGO is hidden by using a POWER MASTER / SLAVE PLUG. The monitor does not get power until 5 seconds after the computer and this hides the logo as the screen is still off. These Master / Slave Extension Strips used to be expensive (£20 to £30) but you cab get them extremely cheap nowadays. The energy supplier gave these away to customers a few years ago and they can be found on eBay for around £7 inc postage.

Both cabinets have ULTIMARC SERVO MOTORS fitted with move the joystick between 4 WAY and 8 WAY. You might be just about be able to hear this happening.
The front end is heavily “modded” / “worked around” MALA using an Excel Spreadsheet to generate the INI & XML files. I will write about this in a future thread.
Things to do :
Migrate the SPINNER cabinet to WINDOWS 7 Embedded 64 Bit
Add a DIGITAL MARQUEE to both cabs
Finally, here is the video on YouTube
