I've had a Chewlix, Vewlix-L, Vewlix-F and a Diamond-black.
I won't lie the Chewlix isn't as solid as an L, C or F (metalwork and plastics are and feel a little thinner) the cab certainly weighs less, the PSU's and JVS cards are clones, mine did have a 1080P screen and a 2-player control panel and it worked fine - was 240V so no stepdown needed....
However the build quality on the diamond-black was a huge disappointment to me - so much so that I sold it - it may as well have been a Chewlix but with slightly better quality screen and stickers at three times the price...
The biggest issues with a second-hand L, C or F is the 720P screen - both of mine have brown banding caused by either burn or dirt on the backlight and to fix it you have to replace the screen or strip it down to clean the lights behind the lcd film panel - so fiddly, time consuming and potentially screen killing - I'm holding out until a decent oled 32" gaming monitor is available to swap over.
The issue with a new vewlix db is its build quality isn't as good and you get absolutely nothing inside it so no i/o boards, psu's - looms, lighting strip in control panel - nadda. so to add a JVS/Fastio pcb is around £200, then a JVS PSU and cables another £150-200, Nesica card reader £100 and it just goes on and on.
My Ideal Vewlix would be a minty C or F shell with the 1080P screen from a Diamond Black setup for JVS.
If you want no cleaning and plug-n-play get a new Chewlix for £1000.
if you want to spend a whole afternoon cleaning it and a screen you'll probably want to clean/replace at some point in the future get a JVS Vewlix C or F for £1500,
if you've for £3000-4000 to burn get a new Vewlix DB.
Ignore the Vewlix-L unless you can pick one up for < £1000 as it's pretty basic (you get marquee & instruction strip lights on the C/F, a better spec LCD and a few other extras, the F has concealed levelling feet for a start). There is a feature comparison chart on ArcadeOtaku's wiki which shows up in a google search.
