Hi guys,

I've always wanted to build my own MAME cabinet and I recently managed to do just that. I've documented the whole process at the blog posts below if you're interested. And here's some pics and a short 1min video too. In a nutshell, I went for a slightly modified Williams cab silhouette and built it all myself using a CRT TV and a Raspberry Pi.

I got some huge help from this forum, so I want to say a massive thank you for the awesome support you guys give. In particular 'muddymusic' (I don't know how to link to someone) who saved my life with the vinyl artwork.

You've done a great write up on the whole process, I've only read a few segment so far but I'll read the rest later.

Fixed the embedded video for you, When embedding video just put the video ID string (in this case) fl0FW4VvbNM. between the [tube] tags or in the video url box on the popup

Nice cab by the way

Looks great. I do like scratch builds as I think they have a genuine place in getting people playing great retro games on an 'arcade cab' in a way that fits their needs, skills, etc.

I'm stuck at work and the internet filters won't let me read your blog posts but I'll check them out at home.

Good work.

Thanks.

You've got the Zoids Gorilla in your loft? Is it in good nick? Boxed even? Are you keeping it in your loft or perhaps thinking of selling it one day? (Gorillas need to be out in the wild ;-). It's on my holy grail list of items I'd love to get my hands on again.
