Since there's not a lot going on I might as well post my recent fix log.
Have an NBA Jam sound board that is only playing half the sound effects. Had already checked all the ROMs so decided to dig out the manual and start looking at select lines to the ROMs and such like. Got the manual and before I went into the schematics decided to closely inspect the board for any damaged traces and discovered this nice factory defect (with pin 1 disconnected):
De-soldered the pins, pushed the chip down into position and re-soldered the pins. All sound effects restored. Thought these things went through a quality control process but not this one?
