Hi all, I am having trouble with my omega MVS in which it keeps resetting after 30 to 40 minutes. Anyone have any ideas of how to fix this issue as it can be pretty frustrating halfway through a round of turf masters.

On all games or just turf masters ??

If your reset can you play for another 30/40 mins or do you have to wait till its cooled down

Could possibly be caps but to be fair could be anything. I assume board is the same as standard arcade ones. I will look tomoz.

Try another power supply or clean the power connector, my 1st ever Neo Geo back in 1994 came with a huge 5v Power brick and it was always resetting, usually during a Samurai Shodown session.. so annoying,

I used to put a fan on it in the end, eventually bought a decent power supply for it, which wasn't so easy before the internet was here.

Yeh, just to be safe
I was going to say
Maybe don’t try it again with that adaptor just in case it’s failing
And at some point it might
Totally fail and console gets to much voltage?
I don’t know if the neo has a protection circuit inside ?

Yeh its pretty much just a jamma board with a few boards added. As above I would remove the Jamma and clean with IPA , Check the voltage is ok going to the 5v ( pin 3 and 4 of the jamma connector) , If this is low of drops below 5v then the game will reset. It may be say 4.9 and ok until it requires a bit more ' ooomph ' and then reset (If that makes sense) this is normally when the voltage on the ram drops causing the reset circuit to activate.

Visually look at the caps as this will also cause this issue especially on the power board. Most other chips are SMD on the main pcb so a pain in the butt when if its the board its self. I would instinctly replace all the caps anyway but thats just me, You can not always see issues with them.

Hope this helps,

Dave.
