I may go and buy one this afternoon if I can find one. I was playing WaW:Zombies with Smythe about midnight and went to download the complete map pack so I could get my ass kicked in 3 other different ways, and it complained my storage was full. Cue a very annoying period of trying to delete little bits of crap to free up the 1.5GB it needed.
I've got a launch model so only the 10?GB drive and it's noisy as hell, so I think an upgrade is on the cards. The only bit that concerns me is how smooth the migration will be. I don't think there is anything on the local HD I need to keep (no games which have since been removed from XBLA) but I'd be pissed if I couldn't re-download everything simply.

I shall therefore go to gamestation first. Yes u know it's the same company but the guys that work there are helpful!
The procedure at game is, buy the console and a transfer cable. Go home, transfer your data over then go back with your trade in. Then throw away the cable I guess!

if you just recovered your GT on your new 360, you would lose all of your savegames.
Pretty sure it doesn't come with the cable. Least I hope not as I bought one (preowned). I can let you know later as it's all in the boot of the car (sshh)

Report so far is very positive indeed! I had a quick play last night but didn't get back from Bruce's until about 12:30am so pretty much just did the transfer as I was feeling rough as fook.
Initial reaction was that I thought "whisper quiet" (as the ads say) was an exaggeration, but having said that from the other side of the room where my PC is I couldn't hear it. Had a play on Bioshock 2 this morning and I have to revise that. It's awesome and barely audible in-game.
So, general consensus is, with a reasonable trade-in, go for it. In the dead of night, in the middle of a rural area, it may seem that it's not whisper quiet. Any other times it's pretty well inaudible.
**NOTE: I'm MEGA fussy when it comes to noise and quiet computing.
PS: They're offering such an awesome deal on my 60GB PS3, I'm taking that in today and doing the same with that so that we can watch Blue-Ray's in peace. £140 trade-in value!

Sounds very positive then. I need to check my PS3 as I'm sure I never noticed the noise issues that other people reported; at the same time, whenever it's on the big Mission speakers tend to drown out most other things, like car bombs and earthquakes 
The important questions though:
1. Can you stack anything on top of it or is it stupidly shaped like the PS3
2. Does it really look sexy as f**k?

Absolutely!
I'm actually very pleased with both machines and although it's something I wasn't expecting to do this weekend it's the consoles sorted for a few more years (another 4 with a bit of luck).
Basically ended up getting both consoles, 5 games and an HDMI cable (yep, both consoles STILL don't come with anything other than composite video!!). All for less than the price of the PS3 alone.
It also worked out cheaper to get the 250GB PS3 thanks to a bit of creativity by the staff at Gamestation. I really didn't need anything more than the 120GB but hey, if the 250 is cheaper
Still re-downloading the PS3 content mind. 360 was technically a bit awkward (and easy to screw up if you're not careful) but quick, PS3 was as easy as it gets, but has to be done manually so very slow.
Oh, and I completely forgot to take the 360 data transfer cable back for trade in. They were only going to give me £3 for it so it wasn't worth me turning the car around. I might flog it, but if not, if / when it comes to it, it's here.

Have you got COD:World at War for it? We seem to have migrated to that from MW2 due to the rampant cheating on MW2, plus the zombies in WaW give it that little extra adrenalin rush
