Wonder if anyone can start me off on this.

I have bad eyesight now and am thinking of getting a Nintendo Switch. The advantage is that it is both big screen and hand held which will give me the option of finding a "view" that my eyes can cope with.

Anyway, is Mame on Switch possible? All I'd want to play is Mame and FIFA.

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Happy New Year to all.

On a modded Switch, yes it runs well and you can overclock the system too for more demanding titles. Gbatemp is a good starting point. Escape-to-882022-12-30 13:19:42

Retroarch is probably your best bet for your modded switch, its a doddle to install.
However if you haven't yet got hold of one, you might struggle to find one that is moddable.
Steamdeck would be a much better option though.

There's quite a few retro arcade games available for Switch, just depends what games you want to play, and how fussy you are about emulation perfection. I got Out Run for peanuts recently (well free actually, as I had some gold coins to use up) and it's very good. Go for the OLED version if your eyesight is poor. Think the screen is a little bigger, too.

I would need both handheld and docking TV capability so does that narrow down to just the Switch?

No, you can purchase docks for the steam deck as well, its a much more versatile machine than a switch will ever be, unless you plan on playing Nintendo titles

Happy New Year

Thanks for the advice boys.

Doing research on Steam Deck. Like what I see so far. Will probably have to off load items (Dreamcast, Gameboy, PSP, DS) before wife will approve purchase!!!!
