It's great to see a snippet of your arcade, its going to look fantastic when it's done.

Do you have an ETA when you think the room will be done and useable or will you need to have another extension?

That one is all done and usable if I had somewhere to put more of the parts and cabs in there that are making half of it non usable

It's a case of when one job is done, it means I can get another area sorted, that then lets me get another area sorted. now I have less carpet to store I have space back which was the drive to get this down before the weather turns. At least now I've moved Chase HQ near side door, Buggy Boy other side, After Burner near double doors and Street Fighter & Rampage just inside door, I can work on them and get them all working, most aren't major jobs to fix and get working again but I have some serious projects like Mad Dog and Dragon's lair being the worst having been turned into jamma cab, most of the atari ones were working but after several years have issues, Champ sprint resets now, the monitor I was in middle of swapping in 720, though i suppose now boards probably have fault again.

Kung Fu Master is working fine, the whole cab really needs completely rebuilding, it's right poor condition, must of got pretty damp, last owner covered all edges in insulation tape to cover all the missing vinyl, t moulding etc but I'm just going to leave as is, looks ok when in place and I like them original, Double Dragon isn't great condition again but works great so with not much work 80% of them at least could be working quite quick

Another that needs some work is Continental Circus, it had the seat section base missing for some bizzare reason, I pointed it out when it was on ebay hoping it would put more buyers off

but it's serious issue as you can't put the cab together, I temp fixed some wheels on a bit of wood to put on it so I can move it, not quite right height though, wheels are issue though, they arent standard ones, they are part recessed into the wood base, so I will have to take one off the front and make some myself, hopefully my metal folding machine will help me with these tasks, looking forward to working on that machine though

I'm trying to sell the dinning table currently, bought it when I had loads of space again when moved most cabs to this room, but now no room again, where that is I can fit in Pirate Bandit, Penny Bowl, Change Man Machine, Gumball Pinball, so that's another 2 big items out this building which will help no end

I need to finish putting Porcelain floor tiles down in house extension, only done half before filling space, still need to finish the side extension plaster boarding, get that all plastered and continue floor in there, then I can get 12 uprights all along that wall before I decide what else can go where so it's a case of get my arse in gear, get loads of this done through winter hopefully so I may have to move more stuff down there through winter so I can get this floor done in extension, will just be nice to have all that part done

So at the minute I've no idea how long really. I'm sorting all the boxes and packing I've been saving up for years, need to sell more on ebay to use it all which doesnt happen, if I can then get that bedroom sorted after stairs put in there for loft, some plaster boarding to finish, carpet and paint it, so much to do

superb. and kung fu master next to double dragon. 2 of my all time faves. would you like a chat about these 2 classics? =)

I could talk about them quite a lot

such classic games, 2 of my favs also

Do you remember where you first saw/ played these games?

For KFM, I first saw it at the funfair. Absolutely blown away by the size of the sprites and the speed of the action. The animation of the characters looked so smooth and agile. The sound effects were perfect. The game drew massive crowds. A bit like swimming for the first time, you think you can just mimic what others are doing by moving your arms and legs and you're good. No, my first game was diabolical and my timing was completely off. Got hugged to death in no time. I knew though that I would absolutely practice so hard on this game that I'd be good one day.

Double Dragon. I don't remember my first time, but I do remember vividly a time when I was out with my brothers and they went into an arcade to play this and I was too young to get in so I stood outside and waited for them. Through the doors I could hear the game music and them having a good time.

Both of these games turned our pretty poor as conversions on the amstrad. KFM, still just about playable to be enjoyable. Double Dragon was a travesty.

Kung Fu Master I can still remember being with 2 mates in the arcade, was the Thomas's one near the back, my mate was quite good on it and still was the last time he played it, can remember watching the Ninja Turtles intro while he was on it too, don't know why certain bits of memory stand out like this

It's not a game I was great at myself, probably didn't even play the original machine but always liked fighting games, International Karate being one of my all time favs on C64

so I would then play Kung Fu Master at home on C64, just didn't have the money to play all the games in Arcades

Double Dragon was in the small Arcade, can't remember the first time we saw it but everything about it I loved, was into all the Ninja and Kung Fu movies anyway so games like this tick the boxes for me, it's a good balance to as you don't have to be amazing at games to play it so when you don't have deep pockets to play it, that really helps, the opening scene is great and then door going up just starts it off, being able to pick up stuff and use was cool. Can't remember how many times we played it to the end but it was quite a few, every saturday we went in to town centre, we would be in there playing to end, probably play a few other games if I had money left to spend, then we'd be in the Commodore centre, remember the C128 in there, used to buy older Zzap mags cheap, mainly for pokes, used to be a good day, always in boots watching the demo videos with games top 10, Dragon's Lair I remember clearly on it for home computers, they always had systems setup to play games that were loaded, seem to remember playing Kung Fu Master on one, may have even been Nintendo, the kids these days might have all the latest consoles and phones but I don't think any of it matches how cool it was for us back in the 1980's with new games coming out all time, things improving so fast and all the arcades, shops and awesome films on at cinema

Don't remember any other arcades near me having Double Dragon, apart from that small Cascade one, they might have but it was only place I went on it, the Krystal Amusements did have DDII in there in the late 80's early 90's when I played Ninja Warriors and Xybots.
