Be carefull, the £50 ones are likely to be 'PAL Boosters', they will change the
frequency of the PAL colour sub carrier but do nothing more.if your TV cannot
handle the 60Hz 30 frames per second rate it won't work. If you feed the signal
you want to convert to the tv you want to use and it rolls you need a 'real'
convertor, if it's black and white and stable a pal booster should do the trick.
PLEASE NOTE: if you want to record the resultant signal (backing up DVD...) then
you need a convertor, the signal put out from a £50 box of tricks is a PAL /
NTSC hybrid and in all likelyhood will be unrecordable. (I've only know 1
recorder manage it a ferguson and the picture was very poor quality with noise
bars, most others just record a blank signal)
Lectropacks might call there £600 one broadcast quality, but unless your the
local cableco's community channel they won't be up to the job of broadcasting.
15K for a TRUE broadcast quality anything is cheap.....
