Hi all,

Thought I would share with you pics and movies of my sega outruns (yep 2 of them) that turnt up today.

http://www.centuri.net/outrun/

I bought the large upright outrun of ebay.de and the deal was sweetened with the addition of a rather nice condition but non working outrun mini.

Having spent a 10mins uppacking them this afternoon, I have found the mini just to have a faulty game pcb.

The upright is in the usual sort of average condition, but I am amazed at the condition of the mini. Its the most complete mini ive ever seen, even its dash plastics are burn free ! It has a few marks on one side, but ive already started rubbing these off the cabinet. Plus the mini map on the cab, is unlike the full size uprights map as its made in perpex just like the marquees.

Anybody else got a mini outrun like this? I had one years ago but it was nothing like this.

I even found the centre cap in the rear of the cabinet.

The camera i used to make the movie clips, couldnt keep up with the refresh rate of the monitor so you see a band on the image, this is not the case with the actual game thou.

Anyhow just chuffed to bits with what i got.

Rgds

PS. Funny thing was the seller offered me a third Outrun in the deal, the full sized sit it version, but sadly i was pushed for space. So had to say no.

Nice one mate - TWO OutRuns arriving together - that's like birthday and
Xmas at the same time :)

They're both in darn good 'nick, like you say, especially the mini - I've
not seen the perspex map decal before - looking at the manual it shows it
sat on top of the cab above the marquee...???

Good to see the oval OutRun sticker AND red/white stripes are attached to
the upright too - don't see them both attached too often. Out of interest,
are they US or UK built? Seems all other bits are present and correct,
amazing! ..reckon you're gonna need some steering wheel springs though..??!

So, the seller had a sitdown version too??! Tell me, how much am I gonna
need to get that into this country??!

As a HUGE OutRun fan I'm well chuffed for ya!

Aw, doesn't the mini look cute next to its big bro (I've never seen the two
together before - the mini is small isn't it? ...or is it just the big bro
is sooo BIG?!!!)

Hi, Cheers for your comments Gary,

They are both UK / IRELAND built, but came from Germany.

Funnily enough there is a bag of 2 springs in the coin box of the large upright.

I will need manuals for them both as I dont have any anymore.

Yes the sitdown version... we never got as far as a price, as i didnt have the space.

But for the 2 i got, shipping was amazingly cheap.

I would like to see the image of the map on the cab, as this would explain the white perspex on the top of the mini. I will take photos later.

Beautiful pictures Jon, most impressive! :)

I like the way you seem to have just torn the stretch wrap and cardboard
packing off and thrown it to the side so you can play with your new toys! ;)

Wish I had the space for an OutRun...

A bag of springs included as well?! Is there anything they didn't include in the deal? ..you'll find a nice bag of shiny Euros in one of the cash boxes next - just so you can coin them up!! I guess the mechs don't accept UK coinage?

I managed to get a picture of the cover of my OutRun Mini manual - it shows the map decal (part no. 422-0172-01) attached to the top of the cab - doesn't show it on the flyer..??

www.outrun.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/documents/outrun_mini_cover.pdf

Got this done at work - not sure if a pdf for the mini upright is available anywhere? if you need a manual for the mini I *may* be able to get the rest scanned to pdf - I know there's plenty of pdfs of the standard upright.. lemme know..

Cheers, Gary

Did the seller have any pictures of the sitdown...?
