Hi all, has anyone tried the Pandora DX on a candy cab with JAMMA, but without a CHAMMA -> JAMMA adapter?

The reason I'm asking is that I need something in place whilst I'm waiting for my Recalbox JAMMA (hopefully arriving in July at some point...). And I'd rather save some bucks by not importing a CHAMMA -> JAMMA adapter, or without soldering.

I know the ground/player1button6 do conflict between the two standards, but does that mean I can use it as plug and play, buttons 1 2 3, without any issues?

Cheers

I used a pandoras box (pandory mod) without an adaptor on my Aero for ages. This worked fine for three button games.

Can I ask what made you pick the Recalbox JAMMA over the Pi2Jamma? Only asking because I'm after a quick play fix to hook up a RPi.

I did this to connect to Jamma (otherwise the menu was unusable):

Seriously though you only need a little strip of electrical tape to block contacts E and 27 (wrap over the contacts both sides, second to the end furthest from the power) on the Pandora's edge connector. This stops Jamma's ground from permanently interfering with chamma's button 6.

Then on the Jamma side, ground needs to be bridged between pins 27+28 and E+F. Many Jamma connectors are already wired this way. If you check yours and it is then you're good to go. If not you can bridge them. It won't do any harm.

This gets the up-to-4-button games working anyway.

Cheers, did you find you had access to buttons 1-3 or 1-4? And did button Player1Button6 being "held down due to ground" an issue?
Sorry, I cant remember I was only using a three player panel before I got the adapter. I'll see if I can get to the machine and remove the adaptor at the weekend. Watch this space!
