, seriously it was from a DE ST - it was next to the machines on the left. I didn't need it anyhow as I need a chrome one, and it went back on the DE ST, it was only put on to hold the glass in place.

The repro optos arrived at the weekend so I fitted them Monday.

Ok so they are fitted! But does it now work?

.... I turn it on and start a game and get:

Which is AWESOME! Because I hadn't put new balls in it yet. I put the balls in today and she works! Those repro opto pcbs ROCK!!!

I do have two noticeable issues.

The Solenoid for the stage doors doesn't fire - I have tested this in the settings under test coil fires and she isn't doing squat, so I need to see if that's a transistor failure or the coil is pooped.

I noticed a non Capcom coil is fitted, a Data East 'Blackbeast' is fitted instead:

And sometimes the start button won't work. It is lighting up so I am guessing some kind of wiring or grounding issue.

Getting there though.

Just an update to this thread..

I never did manage to fix the stage door solenoid and now the game doesn't boot up anymore either.

So I am folding it up to go to stay at Dr. Ravs for a while
