PSPs and retro emulation

I sold my motorbike today and need a new toy to cheer up with. Has anybody used Nintendo, SEGA, MAME etc. emulators on a hacked PSP? I read that SNES / N64 games run worst but most are still playable; howsabout MAME what games push it too far? I've watched some vids on YouTube but it's hard to tell whether the video or emulation is suffering!

Looks like lots of fun can be had for less than forty quid (CEX price, less via eBay if I'm lucky). Obviously the MAME cab will be my main MAME Go To but I can't take that to work

I have ran many emu's on my PSP's and for the most part they run completely fine, MAME is another thing, i had nothing but issues on a few attempts and decided to not bother, i do thing its better at running it these days though..

You thought about a JXD S7800b?

Yes I have, and also a GCW Zero (from memory, or whatever it's called). I just thought that PSPs are old and cheap and would have had tonnes of support for ages now. Disappointed to hear MAME didn't impress though (albeit might be better now). I think I probably will buy one, I can justify 40 quid for SNES MD GB et al alone, and should get my money back if I sell it disappointed by MAME. Unless you tell me MAME et al on the JXD are brilliant! Only thing putting me off really is my Galaxy Ace II is horribly slow and glitchy and it has put me off Android for life.

Hmm, you've reminded me that I've got a hacked PSP sat around doing sod all. Maybe I should get into writing something for it.

Update: I bit the bullet. Will have set me back less than £15 after I sell the games that come with it. But among them was the solution to having a squeaky tight cabinets-defying mancave door -

imo best use of a psp is for running ps1 games on it
