I bought one of those Chinese Jamma harnesses for a home made supergun, and the quality is bloody awful. The wires are so thin they just keep breaking, and I'm sick of fixing it.

Can anyone recommend a good supplier of quality jamma harnesses? I can't be arsed making my own unfortunately.

Ones I've spotted that look ok are:

The one from arcadeuk is more expensive but is it better quality?

I got one from Chowhe Taiwan, and it's not great. I use it in my bartop and mixed with a Chinese made power supply you see pretty severe voltage drops at the edge connector, some boards can't even get 5v with the supply at max.

OK thanks Phil, will give that one a miss then. So anyone have any experience of the arcadeuk one?

actually I have purchased for Chowhe and they sent me the standard Wei Ya PSUs which are all the same no matter where you buy from and work just fine

The Jamma Looms they sent me where actually better than ones I have brought before and are not the ones with the Black Edge connector but ones with the Blue edge connector

in all honesty I was very pleased with what I received

I had one of those blue ones and was exactly the same quality as the black ones tbh. Maybe a different batch.

I bought a couple from Chowhe Taiwan, the wires are super thin, basically poor quality, probably be ok if you don't mess with it, but I have one on my test rig and the wires are always breaking off, I have a spare decent used one that I keep meaning to change it

I bought from ArcadeUK when Jammaboards were out of stock and it's the same low quality thin wires that others in this thread have described. I wish I'd just waited.

Jammaboards have them back in now though

Shipping to UK is super quick too - never had any issues.

EDIT: Wired for -5v too!

I need one for a project - happy to order 2 if need be.

They kind of look like the same crap ones Phil, are you sure they are better quality?

Yes it's the same problem here. Super thin wires, that easily break off on a test rig

It's just the same old story, you get what you pay for

I really don't know why companies bother making something so cheap it's no good. so so many things I've got which are a great idea, but made so cheap it's useless, I just think if they had designed that abit better or made it from good quality materials I would be great

Quite happy to pay more for something better, it's just that there doesn't seem to be anything better :-(

Hopefully a used one from a Jamma cab will be better quality - I expect that it will be

What I would do is to remove the +5VDC, +12VDC, -5VDC and GND wires and replace with high quality alternatives.
