Anyone on here got a Revenge From Mars pinball? and how do they rate compared to the rated top 10. I would love one after playing it at PlayExpo Glasgow in 2023. Played Star Wars Episode 1 plenty of times, there is one in HMV in Glasgow, not as good as RFM though.

They’re generally not very well liked at all.

Nice if you’re lacking space but hugely inferior to the original and nowhere near to the top 10 of pinball machines.

We have one in our arcade and it gets played just as much as the others we got. The pinheads don't play it all too much though, they stick to their other favourites. It's by all means not a bad game, indeed not as good as others but then again it is usually a fair bit cheaper than "top ten" games.

The one we have is on loan from the seaside arcade we frequented (and later worked in) in our youth. I remember it being shiny and new. It's still in decent playable condition.

Went to pinfest this weekend and played a lot of the new tables that have come out in recent years for the first time. Tbh, Revenge from Mars feels a lot more fun than a lot of those in my opinion! The way it integrates video into the game works really well compared to all these movie theme pins that demand you watch a movie clip every 30 seconds.

Ignore NeoRetro its a brilliant machine and is well liked, its even better when its running on mypinballs updated code set, you can also add 2 extra balls, a shaker motor and a knocker with his upgrade kits and the newly released reinstatement of a physical ball lock that was originally planned but left out of the released game.

I own both and they definitely keepers, way better value for money than Attack from Mars and Medieval Madness with the same sort of gameplay.

I know several people who have bought multiple machines over the years as they get the itch again after selling it on.

Why? Because I disagree with you. I’ve seen these change hands loads of times. Quite often very quickly after being purchased.

The guys asking how it compares to the greatest 10 pinball machines ever. You’re lying if you’re saying a machine that often changes hands for £2k is in the same league as the top 10.

It’s 2k for a reason. It’s not that desirable.

So, ignore Fantazia2 it’s not a brilliant machine at all.

Currently it stands at No. 83 in the Pinside top 100 so yes. Not a top ten game, but neither are thousands of others. If you loved it, go ahead and get one! Yeah there are games than in other peoples opinions are better but well, y'know, that's just their opinion, man.. There's a lot of games, pinball and video, that other people disregard but I happen to love to bits.

Yea if the question is should you buy one the only question you need to ask is do you like it?

One bit of advice I’d give though is never buy a pinny you’ve never played before in person

Rfm is a brilliant game I have recently got one back for the 3rd time.. Jim's always doing updates as Chris said.
The games in the top 10 are normally very expensive ones ... Rfm there's loads about I guess that's why they aren't so expensive.. (yeah I know there's loads of Tafs about too but we all know why that's so expensive )

I have seen a fair few at 3.5k or more not 2k
It’s a fun game I have one and it’s my second one now running Jim’s code and it made a big difference

Rfm is a lot of fun .
Pinball prices have def softened in the last year though - I’m not sure anyone is paying 3k+ now for one unless it is very nice.

2.5k Probably around the mark for an ok one now .

2k would be a snapped up

Wind your neck in mate, I told him to ignore you as I dont agree to your opinion that its not well like and hugely inferior to the original.

I bought an RFM as my first pinball 10 years ago for £1100. Back then there wasn't much love for them, but as times change so do peoples opinion, and there is more interest in them nowadays, especially with Jim (mypinalls) releasing new code/hardware/features for them
I kept mine for 4 years before selling it to make space for something else. I still really enjoy the game, and if i see one at a venue, then i will always have several goes on it.
They are a big 'ol heavy lump to move, but they are made to be disassembled easier than a regular pinball machine, so can be broken down to more manageable lumps.

If you like the game buy it (y)
