Some how I have missed this!

This sounds like an awesome setup - another UK arcade?

Do you have pictures of the venue setup?

There some pictures on the facebook page for Revival posted by TurnArcades (Craig) from his visits - you can see a lot of the cabs in them (Crazy Taxi, 18 Wheeler, Star Wars Trilogy, Ridge Racer DLX etc.) http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.589408631149927.1073742285.363949947029131&type=3

This all started out with Anj (Stuart) hosting his own cabs every Tuesday evening at the venue (and this still happens so if your within an hours drive on a Tuesday its worth popping along to say hello).

The Revival team have now given him most, if not all of their cabs to use as well and this weekend event is a joint venture to try and make a regular arcade event happen and include some of the more popular consoles too - so if you can - come and join us.

The venue is a multi-purpose one, so hosts lots of different things - live bands, night club etc. but it actually works quite well as a temporary arcade - with a licensed bar. I went a few weeks ago for a quick visit and a curry - loved it - good atmosphere and not crowded so always machines available.

Sure thing fellas - you can jump right to our website or facebook pages for more info, as well as check out photos of the associated 'Retro Barcadium' nights held at the venue every Tuesday, on which our show will elaborate. If you went to either our huge Revival 2013 or Revival Mini in December, you get the idea of what to expect in terms of vibe and content. Where this differs though is that it s a dedicated nightclub venue with infinite layout possibilities, mood lighting, bar, and for an event we hope will attract around the same number as Mini or a few more (around 200-250 people eventually), we are aiming to always have the highest arcade quota of such a relatively smaller sized event. By the time this show is held, there will be a total of around 70 arcade machines of various types in rotation, from classics to peripheral-based, environmental, cocktail, custom and multi-game. Every Tuesday there are around 30-35 machines available to play in a single-floor setup, then at any given Revival Weekender, 50 plus machines plus all the other retro systems over 3 floors that will be rotated each time as machines are acquired and move in and out of the on-site workshop! The 'classic' count is currently a little lower, but there's plans underway acquiring some amazing rarities and golden oldies right now!

Here's some links and pictures of the recent Barcadium evenings there:

Thanks Shaun you know we'll make the best of them as we did last year! It's with big thanks to UKVAC we pulled it off last year and we're proud to be first to partner with the serious collectors here on shows. We hope you guys will continue to pledge cabs at shows, promote us and support us by coming to all our meets as I know there are many other personal meets like the Slam etc, but we're looking to be the central hub for retro gaming events and making efforts like this to make arcade gaming meets a more regular possibility, no matter how small, with very little effort needed as we have the resources now to do it!

Incidentally, we're supporting James' effort too up north and he will be assisting us with the main event in August, so with our other plans we're looking at a record arcade presence for any event in recent years and are well on the way to doing it; if anyone wants to contribute to the main event or even these smaller weekenders then be sure to drop us a line or mention it here, and we can likely sort you out with tickets and thanks galore :)

That's one thing we'll be maintaining - the talks. We have good relations with the old developers and the Indie scene and the talks and Q+A sessions always pull a crowd and make it something you can only get at a proper big event! Loved having all you guys last year, and this year we're working on having the largest arcade presence of any retro show - all in all we're looking to have in excess of 120 arcade machines at very least this year!

Looks awesome, can't wait to see pictures / hear reviews.

Alex and I can't make it on behalf of the Ten Pence Arcade Podcast, as it is Alex's / DaveO's birthday celebrations and I am shortly going to be in Frankfurt to see a band called Iris (they do our intro music)

We'll deffo be up for the next one. Hope everyone has an awesome time there!!!
