So last week I picked up a Scudrace Twin from an arcade owner, he had it standing in his hangar for about 10 years, he told me that it worked perfectly, only problem was that the sides are really messed up from loading in and out of the truck during it's hard life!
First I went there to have a look and the right side had nothing on the screen at all, left side had no sound, no force feedback but game and monitor looked fine.
I told him that force feedback did not work and he told me that he just disconnected the motor because it was not good for his arcade settings, so I was thinking ok that could be so I believed him on that.
For that the right side showed nothing he told me that it was always like that it would take 1 hour to warm up and then it would work fine, and after I went home he did send me a picture of the second side working.
Initially he asked 1000 euro but after a while I got it down to 500 euro so that was a price I felt ok with and was ready for some costs on this machine.

I got the machine home and then the horror started
The right side I got out the PSU and it did not do anything it seems, so I started checking caps and all seemed fine except for one ceramic cap that showed open, I replaced that cap and yes the PSU now starts right away each time.
So left side has no sound at all, right side had some sound but like badly cracking up but no music at all.
All 4 speakers in the seats are bad, subwoofer I did not get too they work but not great for sure.
Right DSB board was bad it had many patched on it and was dead and looking on how it looked and how complex it is.
I replaced it with and Arduino nano and mp3 Player using customized DSBClone code and now I have music, and I made my own combination of the Seeeegaaa sample combined with the Sega Saturn startup sound and that plays when you power on the machine so thats nice.
Then checking the Force Feedback I noticed that all cables where in and not like the guy told that he disconnected the motors, so both FF boards are bad in this machine, I put a spare FF board on the right side and that started to work, on the left side it doesnt work so it is even more than the FF board alone...
Another thing is that the link doesnt work, after some testing it seems one of the cables is bad.
I also noticed there is something wrong on the right side PCB it has like some small lines on the rev counter and the smoke is not correct also, not that annoying but should be fixed for sure but first I need to have it playable and sounding right and getting the left force feedback looked at.
