BTW - I have the original PM1745C chassis and a spare which both give identical / very similar results.

Swapped over PCs and graphics issue went with them. So not a monitor/ chassis issue.
I'll post another thread for a graphics board repair guru...

Yeah I was going to say that's not a monitor fault, definitely a pcb set fault. I'd start by checking voltages to that board. Check that the psu is putting a good 5v to the board.
