I'm just back from a holiday in Skegness!

Despite all the bad things about modern arcade machines there are a few gems:
On the Pleasure Beach there is a nice Manx TT Superbike and Sega Rally machine. I think I saw Sega Rally 3 as well.
In the big arcade before you go on the pier there is an Outrun 2006.

In the Empire Bowl and Bar there is a fantastic Outrun 2 SPDX machine.
Although I love Outrun I have never played the Outrun 2 SPDX (Moving cabinet). £1 a go. I got to 86% complete on Level 5 (Easy Route).
The last time I saw it at Blackpool I didn't have time to play because there was a big queue of people waiting.
There is a giant Galaga and Pacman machine, but these are modern machines - not classic cabs.

I didn't see any classics in Ingoldmells where the Fantasy Island Theme Park is but that is to be expected.
Overall very good.

Thanks Bods! I didn't look too closely in Ingoldmells. I nearly had a seizure when I had to pay £88.50 for 3 tickets for Fantasy Island. I didn't get a ticket for myself because the little train was not running that day.

Ahhhh you missed out on a decent arcade in Ingoldmells. You should have walked down to the big arcade beyond the theme park just though the traffic lights and on the left hand side of the road. Dont remember the name but it was on the corner at the traffic lights and was the biggest one there. I was there in June and they had F355 deluxe with 3 screens....not one, but 2 of them together! Also had sega rally 3 - the huge deluxe one but the motion wasn't working. Some other old classics in there too as well as new modern fast n furious thing with 4 screens (2 per player) - not a great game but looked cool. There were also a few pinball machines in that arcade too. The theme park does have the original Daytona in it and its a big deluxe thing - one side was broke though but was nice to see daytona still in an arcade. It was in a small arcade nearer the right hand side of where the market stalls were - ie not the main big arcade in the park.

Used to get sent over there fixing machines (not arcade stuff) quite often in Fantasy Island, not often the job had a plus side but sometimes it did

The other photo's were the arcade right down the end of the road down near the sea front, I wanted to buy that Rail Chase, the next time I was there working I went down there to ask them if they would sell it and it was gone, spoke to a guy he said we scrapped it not long ago cos i had the Compressor out of it, they always say it's just been scrapped a few weeks before, seems to be standard response, exactly same when I asked about the Turbo Outrun Deluxe. makes you wonder if they did or not
They used to have a few Pinballs in the Fantasy Island ones, because most are owned buy same guys they just move them about the arcades, when I got my Chase HQ fromt them, he said I've got another up in Ingoldmells, shame he waited till I was there with van big enough for 1 lol

I reckon the 2 red ones (f355s) are probably the ones moved across from fantasy island then, as they were definitely the original ones and not the follow up F355-v2 yellow cabs, and it would make sense they would sell (or pass over to their other arcade if they own it) across the road. Its a different world down there and harks back to the 80s/90s when family holidays involved caravans. Really nice friendly feel to it. This place was my youth with my parents and it was a reminiscence tour for me to go there and I was pleasantly surprised it was still there. Truth be told, my memories of there were playing Tehkan World Cup 86 when I was a kid (and it was brand new), so that gives my age away right there! I'll stop typing and go cry now about being old
