There is a 'Taitronics' Space Invader upright on Ebay, with a start price of £395. It looks to be in amazing condition, but on the screenshot pic it says Pro-Game above the high score. What is this, i've not seen it before?

The finish on this looks more hardwearing than the original, nice and glossy. IMO the only thing that lets it down is the crappy speaker grill and cashbox door - urgh!
I'm intrigued as to what the pro-player version is like, I love all the derivatives of SI. My guess is it'll just be a faster game with more missiles to avoid, but I hope it isn't.

My favourite version is known in MAME as Space War (Sanritsu), I used to play this back in the day and I don't remember the cab looking any different to a normal SI cab, so maybe this was offered as a replacement PCB. MAME doesn't give the true effect of the sounds on this, the tunes have a very odd 'organ like' tone on the real thing, it sounded ace! And the game itself was very challenging and an interesting variation. If you like SI and haven't already, try it!

Strangely, all of a sudden everything within the site disappeared overnight. The portacabins, plant, everything just went. I nipped over every time I was in the vicinity, and never saw a soul onsite.
Whether all the major works were done weeks/months ago and the job was being signed off, or whether the developers have run out of money, who knows? But as it stands, the boundary is still fenced off.

Frustratingly, the phone number I got just rings endlessly, doesn't even go to voicemail!

Actually, as much as I'd like to do this, it would do my business no good if I got caught - Security Systems!

The text in Chinese is the same as the English next to it (Taiton Electronics Co. in Chinese on the side, for example).

The only difference is the language next to the pro button that goes something like "Harder game multiplies the score" (i.e. the games harder but you get more points).

It's traditional Chinese, most likely from Taiwan.

Regards,

Paul.
