I'm not up on all this stuff as for 35 years + all I have ever used is SCART RGB 60hz into CRTs. However, I need to bite the bullet and use a flat screen for a different set up.

As I say all my consoles (now down to just NG, SNES, PCE) have RBG SCART output so from a little research I'm thinking an OSSC v1.8 convertor is what I need??

Such as: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008144930304.html

Other thing is screen (circa 20" required) - 4:3 would be preferable of course but again not sure what to go for - the old Dell 2007FPs still seem to get mentioned?

5:4 is another option but I'd rather go slightly more rectangular than more square but not as far as 16:9 so I guess that leaves 16:10 or 4:3 ideally?

OSSC or if you are flush then a retrotink would be the better option

i have an OSSC and im not massively impressed, much rather use CRTs
I always use CRTs to play, but an OSSC seems fine to me when needing to use a modern display for whatever reason. There's a lot of settings on an OSSC to play with to get the best looking output.
