Had this delivered yesterday. Wasn’t sure what to expect as I’ve only ever seen pictures of a Streets Defender, never seen an example of the cab itself.

They are tidy cabs, and a good size too. You can really see the effort in the CP and bezel that company's used to go through with artwork on games. Only thing I couldn't stand on the Streets cabs was the controls. Those microswitch buttons get downright tiring after a bit, and the lethal looking joystick gets a bit slippy too.

I think I would change the controls for leaf buttons as you have the room, and a real defender 2 way joystick use/play it like this, then keep the others and if it was ever sold you still have the originals.

The buttons on there are smaller than regular leafs so it'll mean drilling through the CP and CPO. Not something I'd fancy doing meself :)

Yeah if they fit they would definatley make it feel better. Give the spike a try before you change it, and obviously keep it so you can revert if back to it's former glory (hehe) should you want to.

That is a really pretty CPO IMO, but the spike - I just can't see how anybody ever thought that was a good idea

Can you imagine 'elf & safety now?

"We'd like to fit a tapered steel spike onto this kids arcade machine mmkay?"

This is working now. Bad bridge rectifier BR1. Nice easy fix.

Plays a surprisingly good game of Defender. It's been over 20 years, so very pleased with this.

Nice bright screens, controls better than expected, good loud sound. Chuffed.

Your machine is totally 'stock', i understand some people suggest replacing buttons/stick, but the panel isn't flat like an upright defender and the spike isn't too bad actualy in that p[laying position...

But i'm a purist, i prefer to have machines without 'bling' like different sticks/button to what they were supposed to be...

I've got a lot more respect for Streets's Defender now I've had the chance to play it. So I reckon I'll keep it as is. I'm surprised just how well the controls work.

Beautiful - I always wondered if there was a knob or balltop missing from the 'spike' - I guess not!

I were pretty good at Williams Defender as a kid but i did have the odd go on the Streets one and tbh i were totally shat at it

I just couldn't get used to the 'ball less' joystick.I found it uncomfortable to use

Still a pretty impressive looking 'sparkly' machine it has to be said though
