[ukvac] [Tech] 2764 in place of 2732
Whilst on the search for some 2732s I had an idea, can someone confirm
if this will work please?

The rom xref document on spies shows a 2732 as follows:

A7 1 +-v-+ 24 Vdd
A6 2 | | 23 A8
A5 3 | | 22 A9
A4 4 | | 21 A11
A3 5 | | 20 OE/, Vpp
A2 6 | | 19 A10
A1 7 | | 18 CE/
A0 8 | | 17 D7
D0 9 | | 16 D6
D1 10 | | 15 D5
D2 11 | | 14 D4
GND 12 +---+ 13 D3

And a 2764 as follows:

Vpp 1 +-v-+ 28 Vdd
A12 2 | | 27 /PGM
A7 3 | | 26 -
A6 4 | | 25 A8
A5 5 | | 24 A9
A4 6 | | 23 A11
A3 7 | | 22 OE/
A2 8 | | 21 A10
A1 9 | | 20 CE/
A0 10 | | 19 D7
D0 11 | | 18 D6
D1 12 | | 17 D5
D2 13 | | 16 D4
GND 14 +---+ 15 D3

SO, if I were to drop a 2764 into the 24pin socket where the 2732 would
normally go lining up pins 14/15 on the 2764 with 12/13 on the socket
(ie, 1/2/27/28 overhanging) and ran a jumper wire from the unused pin 26
(now receiving Vdd) to pin 28 which needs Vdd would it work.

I know by leaving pin 2 low (ie, not connected) I would only be able to
address the lower half of the chip, but this is all I want to use anyway
until I obtain some 2732s...

Any thought's? Am I talking shite again :O) ?

Guddler.

Yep, I didnt look at the diag, but its an easy enough hack.
Just burn the image twice and tie MSB hi or lo.
