[ukvac] [Tech] Monitor faults. Suggestions please

Monitor 1
I have a hantrex 9000 that every few secconds makes a click noise resulting in the screen going black for a second and then picture resumes. It all depends on what mood its in when you switch it on. If its in a bad mood it will do it every 5 secs. You can then switch it off and then on again then it will do it every 10 mins, then maybe next time you switch it on it does it every 5 secs again. I have looked at the back of the monitor with the lights off and there is no arcing that is visible.... any suggestions?

Wells Gardner 25ksomething(one with remote adjustments board) Picture is very blury, and every few seconds it does the same as above, a clicking noise with the picture going blank and then resuming, but on this one its more like the picture collapses rather then just goes black, and the clicking noise is much louder, more like an arcing crack, but again no visible arcing
Any help would be great

ps I hate monitors they scare the shit out of me, so if i need to do any probing around with the monitor on then i will have to get someone else to do it
