[ukvac] [Tech] Poor JAMMA Edge Pins
Non working jamma board with dodgy edges ( had some foil or something
soldered to them :) is there a 'proper' method around this or tack a double
edged jamma finger board to it etc..

Can provide pics but it aint a lot to look at.

Cheers, Joe

Re: [ukvac] [Tech] Poor JAMMA Edge Pins
You could try silver PCB track repair paint. It's a small bottle similar
to nail varnish that can be painted onto a PCB. It dries leaving a
conductive silver plating. I've repaired PCB tracks with it but never
edge connectors. It might be worth a try...

Failing that, it is possible to "lift" a good edge contact off a scrap
board and superglue (or a Tak-Pak is better) it down on the other board
(once it's been suitabley prepared and cleaned). use a small amount of
solder at the end to tack the new contact to the track (or use silver
paint or a small bare wire bridge if the distance is large).

Regards,

Paul.

Fixing PCB edge connectors properly is covered in Atari's The Book in some
detail (on spies). Page 1-30 (page 40 of the PDF version).

non-working jamma board with dodgy edges sounds like a candidate for
scavenging parts from to me ;)
