Here's some pics and a vid I took at 3pm. Bearing in mind the event finished at 4pm you can begin to gauge just how busy it was earlier.
One of the grails for me was ZX Spectrum serial number 001-000341. It would have been made during the very first week of the production run. I own serial number 001-002296 but would love to own this one!
Finally, I met up with David Jones and went for a couple of beers with him after the event. Before he'd arrived I'd managed to find a rather rare copy of the Magic Knight Trilogy (Finders Keepers/Spellbound/Knight Tyme) on Spectrum +3 disk in one of the boxes of assorted games below one of the traders tables. I rather cunningly 'hid' it out of the prying eyes of all but the most determined of bargain hunters, knowing that David might be interested in buying it for himself when he arrived. When I showed it him he was pretty chuffed as he didn't own a copy of it so proceed to ask the seller how much it was. The seller and David got into a bit of a conversation, which I recorded. The original price of the disk would have been £17 but when David revealed who he was the seller gave it him for a tenner and managed to get a selfie of him and David for the memory. Nice little story. In the video you can see David revealing who he is to the seller.
