Agree with Andy/RaveN - Good informative thread, but there are many ways of doing this. We just shared our way, for preservations sake.

Having said that, I'm all for bootlegs being fully converted this way - tee hee!

yes, and that's appreciated.
It's informative and correct, we haven't torn it apart or anything.
The thing about this hobby is that everything should be done with preservation in mind. So it had to be mentioned here, otherwise you might have a ton of people stumble upon this tutorial and we end up with a load of Pac/Galaxian boards out there looking like bootleg boards, never to be used in AC cabs again.

yeah I see what your saying and having said that I still have and a zip lock bag all the components from when I once did a galaxian so I could put it back if needed

the reason behind this was finding an AC ISO is sooo had nowadays

keeping it AC is only good or original Cabs where yes I would say keep it AC

This is good - Im just about to do this with an old AC pcb because I don't have much luck finding a replacement oddball AC transformer.

I prefer a switcher anyway.

I used Mikes arcade DC wiring pinout to connect a switching power supply to an original Pac-Man (https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/spies.cgi?action=url&type=pinout&page=Pac.html):

I assume that hooking an original board up this way is fine for long periods?
