Hello all...this is a long un

First an apology for not replying to a few of you as I seem to be spending most of my time in Paris working. Anyway the reason for this message is due to this fact. I work for a French Company and now spend alot of time back and fore between Bristol and Paris as I have a new project. Anyway due to this I need to spend quite a bit of time over there in July. This was when I was organising my meet and I think I need to put it back a bit.

Now as some of you may know French people don't work in August ( lazy b.....ds) so I was going to re-organise it for weeknd of 4-6th August. If that is not suitable for the majority then I am going to have to put it back till september as I am going on Holiday. If this date is suitable for people then it is a definite goer!

I must admit the take up rate for a meet has not been the greatest so either people are not really interested or everybody hates me!!!

Having seen the lack of posts on UKVAC these days I was wondering if people are just not interested in attending meets etc.

There is a topic going at the moment on Jamma+ forum about meets and people getting offended about not being invited to specific meets etc, well this is an open meet, if you want to come and don't know anyone or if you just hate me and get on well with other people then that is no problem, please feel free to attend.

I have already mentioned the games that will be available...pachinko machine has arrived, might have all parts for star wars cockpit as well by then and the Xbox 360 is now working in High Definition on the plasma.

I have found out about a few attractions around here as well....supposedly some good mountain biking, 9 hole golf course near (just turn up and play), dry slope skiing, mountain boarding, climbing centre.

The BBQ is dusted and there will be lots of opportunity to drink!!

So thats about it...if people are interested and want to attend the postcode is NP22 4LP for you to multimap to see where it is, journey times are 3 hours from Liverpool, 1 hour Bristol, 1 3/4 Walsall M5/M6 and about 2.5 from London & Portsmouth etc

If you can get a reply to me then I can just judge the interest and give a definite confirmation. I have no problems for this date as I am on holiday, the only reason I will not have it is if not enough people are interested.

I have just had a few messages on UKVAC which I had not checked out before I posted this message( I didn't read messages after I got in from paris yesterday) about people who had planned on coming on the original date.
I am not trying to be funny moving dates etc, just want to get a successful meet with as many people as possible. ( This is proving more difficult than I thought!!)
Could people reply with a prefered date
1. original date in July
2. 4-6 Th August
3. Some other time in September
If the original date is better for everyone then I will tell Frenchies that I am not coming out there!
Sorry for this didn't realise trying to organise a meet would be so difficult

I tend to think your find more people turn up than actually state on the forums theyd be going.

Its always the scary thing with meets, its all about waiting for people to turn up, getting worried nobody is going too and then they do!

Hi,

Now that you've rescheduled it to August I cannot make it 'cos I'm away!

September onwards sounds fine, or any weekend prior to July 29th.

I will be bringing three people if the dates suit.

Hey Simon,
As mentioned before when you first suggested a meet I'd be up for it.
My wife's had the baby now and we're getting the hang of it and even getting some sleep!

Indeed, there are few posts here which is a shame after all Rav's efforts! Regarding meets:- people tend to appear at the last minute, still it's nice to get an idea of numbers.

BTW, you're a brave man working in France. Maybe you can sneak off one day to see a stage of the Tour De France?
