Way OT - any electronics gurus can help with this circuit board?

If there was smoke there should be damage, look at TR1 for physical damage. The fuse at F2 on the bottom might be open but you need to find the issue before replacing it. It sounds funny but if it did smoke you should still be able to smell which commonent went, my money would be on TR1 or what looks like a relay since everything looks fine.

Check for short circuit - If its blown the fuse then its normally that (Not always ! ) If so a component may be fuffed, They can pop from underneath so untill you start removing and testing you cant always see it.

Well, the board is fine - I (as you do :unsure::ROFLMAO:) thought I'd just solder a piece of 10 amp (!) fuse wire over the old fuse and plug it all in - it's the motor that went bang in dramatic fashion but nothing to see. Except when I looked closely I found a small screw has been attracted by the magnet and I think had shorted the whole thing... doh. And the fuse wire is still intact.
