Back on this again. I felt particularly stoked tonight so decided to give this a go. First attempt and can't believe I needed 0.1km to complete the game for the first time. Literally 50m from the finish line. No errors on this drive, just a few occasions where I needed to lift to avoid crashing.

Still one of the toughest driving games, I need to conquer La-Sarthe on this.

Finally, I've finished the game at 54.4km. I crashed at the end of the third lap but managed to make it over the line with 0 seconds on the clock, only the momentum of the car taking it over. My fastest 1st lap is 153.7 seconds (from a standing start).

What I've learned from playing is that the cars are set on each credit. I'm not sure how many cycles there are but on every 1st credit the car order is always the same. On the 2nd credit the order is different to the 1st but again the car order is the same on every 2nd credit. If you could go flat out, in the game, you would have the same car on the straight and bend (every time) for that credit number.

Thanks, and good luck. I've been on this for about 6 hours over the last three night trying to finish it. Each time on level 4 there are a number of kamikaze moves by the cars. You cannot afford to crash or lose any time. If it wasn't for those kamikaze moves I would have completed this weeks ago. I still believe there is a strong element of luck (to be able to finish) to how the cars pan out over the last two laps particularly in the later stages of the game.

I can get to level 4 on almost every game but the car behaviour on that level is totally unpredictable

My fastest 1st lap is now 153.4 seconds (from a standing start).

Finished after 45 minutes of retrying with 2.7 seconds left on the clock, which only awards 2.7 x 1000 points.

I decided to post a video of a full run. Unfortunately there are lines on the video due to the camera angle. I don't think I could get it in a better position to improve the image but at least you can see it pretty well. I'm completing the game almost every other go now.

ENJOY!

Thanks for adding the score for me but I think that WR would be impossible. If correct, I think you would need about 2 minutes left on the clock (once finished) unless the number of laps can be adjusted (which I would change immediately if I knew how).

Will try and get a good proper session on it over the weekend

Hi Deano,

that's exactly the same as my set-up. MAME on a sega rally cab. I have a small piece of advice for you though. Basically complete the majority of the first lap without lifting. Look at my video and at 1:48 in the video I'm taking the second tight left turn before the finish. Let that blue LMP car (in the right lane) go through the bend before you. It is possible to pass it before the bend. It makes the remainder of the game play differently (car sequences) if you let it pass and significantly more difficult if you don't.

Enjoy, and don't get too frustrated.jonhughes2014-05-10 06:21:11
