What is this converting ?

My question now is

Do I need to feed this new rs242 converter 5v ?

Original takes power from psu
This new one has the 5-12v input on it ?

I have not actually checked my psu is outputting the 5v to original either I should check this today as well ..
Just to rule out it hasn’t been putting out power to original converter .. but all ther power is fine from my psu main board Lindbergh & the I/o power ..

But will check to rule it out

I’m looking at the connecotor now …. For the ffb from Lindbergh .

And I’m seeing the 4
From right to left
Tx+ , Tx- , Rx+, Rx- plus 5v Gnd

? 🧐. This 5v is coming in then from the converter ?
Or coming out of the motor controller pcb ?

In which case it goes to my 5-12v in on the new converter ?
