I'm using ntsc-j one with cart from ali so I can run backup CD's, had no issues with it so far. Saroo cart is ok but is glitchy.

Playing Saturn in my cab other day on mister, it’s good
still would love a Saturn with ode or fenrir, when time is right I will pick one up. I have ntsc & moded saturns but I’m stopping short of putting it in my cab just because of size and cables.

MiSTer is great. Setups come up for sale quite regularly on the forum. Tons of extras available, but you don’t need much to get up and running and playing many systems. Keep a look out or post in the Wanted section if you’re looking to pick one up (y)

Ideally you need dual SDRAM on the Mister to get some of the games running at full speed, this means you cant use the Analogue outputs so either stuck with HDMI out or you need to use a HDMI to VGA adapter.

Dont think there are any SNAC Adapters that work with the Saturn Core yet either so your stuck with USB controls.

All you really need for Saturn is the baseboard with a pair of SDRAM modules and either the USB base or just just a USB hub for peripherals.

The latest version of the I/O board has a removable section for the Analogue outputs so you can still get the menu controls and SNAC input with the dual RAM setup.

You can also do dual RAM on the QMTech board but you cant use their IO as it blocks one of the GPIO/SDRAM slots I think, but you can still do the same and use a USB hub or "Offical" USB board on the bottom, you do need a powered HDMI to VGA converter if going that route.
But the QMTech one only seems to come as the Bundle now with the Case and I/O pushing up the price, not seen the bare boards on sale for a while now.

The core is still being worked on though.

Taki Udons board is probably the cheapest option for this but Batch 3 is currently sold out on pre order.

I use my Saturn core in my cab
With jamma io ..
Not sure if io goes to the core ..
Or goes through usb ..
Even usb though is cool because the usb on mister uses polling ..

Increasing the speed of the input reducing lag.

My third mister ☺️…
If you have a cab you want to play Saturn in .. it is a smaller form factor and less cables .

Saturn core with its great arcade ports” just another feather 🪶 in its already very attractive hat :) ….

Antonio mister to jamma very simple to use as is a Jpac.

I use the analogue out on my mister
With saturn core ?

The new mister pi I have here is if I understand correctly dual ram on board ?

The AE Jamma adapter is USB unless you buy the additional Jamma edge with the connection to the SNAC port.
👍…

Good video here recording polling of usb vs snac vs something els 🤪…

Then you got laggy game engines
Then you got the peripheral.

But seems that Basically mister usb is very good 😊 because it uses polling

Depository for the usb encoder from
Daemonbite

Has the usb low latency info..

I have snes and n64 snac now not used yet .. but can’t fault any of the feel of any games I have played been blown away by it actually!

Saturn on my ms929’s looks great too.
and then you can whip it out and plug up to crt tv / monitor for more time consuming Saturn rpg etc rts style games ..
