The UK retailer has announced a
list of trade-in offers available in store that should help spending out
on the upgrade more bearable.

price you see the price you pay when you trade in the appropriate

The new
console, which doesn't appear to be available in any bundles, retails at
£199.99 and features integrated wireless 802.11n WiFi and a 250GB hard
drive.

It launches in Europe on July 16th.

I'm surprised that my launch day 360 is only worth about the same as a Wii on trade-in. I don't know whether to go for this upgrade or wait and see what they come out with next - can they really do anything bar increase the disk?

I've not had problems with only being able to install one game to HDD (MW:2 has that slot atm) and I don't yet run 802.11n at home despite having an access point which is capable - mainly because I've got quite a bit of gear running on -G and possibly one old device still on -B, so I don't see the point in crapping out the -N connection. Although I think my laptops and iPhone 4s will do -N, I think I have an Apple Airport device which is maxed out at -G or -B even. I suppose I could leave an old B/G AP running for legacy stuff and switch everything else over to -N and try to pick channels that don't screw my -N speeds.

And I'd like an HDMI connection, but I'm currently using the VGA output at 1080p so even that's not a killer feature for me. Hmmm. But it is sexy and black...

Anybody defo going for one of these? I assume they will have finally resolved all the problematic stuff like scratching disks, overheating and RROD etc?

the hdd is a standard sata one, im sure someone will work out how to stick a bigger one in

Could be justification for buying a new one then. I'm still pleased that my launch model has never shown any sign of failure, and I guess I could finally go for a wall mounted LCD in the bedroom and stick the old console up there in case I want to play whilst Stink is watching TV, as opposed to the current situation where she very generously lets me hog the TV whenever I want. She's a good 'un

that's true, but i can't fix my ki pcb by cooking it with a paint stripping heat gun (4 mins per side)

and before anyone says it don't work i have done 4 so far and they been working for months without a problem
and anyway as i am weighing them in for store credit they only need to work for a few mins so the guy in the shop can test them, then load up my store card with credit......
