I've had this cab for a while now and not done anything with it since I got it.
The last time I switched it on it had vertical collapse and no sound, I didn't know whether any of it worked apart from the marquee & coin door lights.
After sourcing a nice burn free monitor I got round to fitting it and tried the machine out.

This monitor is a Hantarex 900 not a 900e so I changed the power connector temporarily and although the main connectors are slightly different it fitted snugly.
At first I only got a picture wobbly picture, I could recognize the frogger game though which was a bonus.
I moved the sync cable from the main connector and attached it to pin 2 of the com connector and shorted the first and second pin together, after that I got good sync and saw the game for the first time :)
After some adjustment is was looking pretty decent...

The pictire is very wobbly and on occasion has scratchy lines appear through the image but good colours and detail.
You can see the obvious graphical glitch along the 2nd row of cars down from the top - a line of garbage and corrupted sprites. Nothing else seems affected though.
I am hoping this might be a single component but I've not even started to look at the pcb properly yet apart from reseating chips.

No sound at all. I did try rewiring up the volume pot and the speaker is buzzing but I haven't got any further with this yet.

All the controls except for player 2 start are working, the joystick could do with some kind of restrictor to stop it from going crazy directions but its not that bad.
It doesn't look like the credit board is doing anything but the coin microswitch is fine so I'm not too worried abou that atm.

It's so good to see the game at least partially running and playable. I really love the style of this game and I think the Zac cab fits the theme really nicely - gotta love those green and red coin inserts

Loads more work to do but here's some shots of it how it is now:

My phone still refuses to connect to the PC so I can't get the pics I
want, but I did find 2 more that give a little teaser of the artwork...

Both sides are pretty much intact apart from a gouge at the bottom of the right side and plenty of knocks and dings.
The good thing about this art is the thick clear coating on it, while there are lots of scratches most of them don't go through and appear as indentations on the surface instead.

These were taken before I fixed the inner cardboard back up that was hanging below the top of the bezel. I like the deeply mounted monitor on this game.

The last few times I've switched the game on the crackling/distortion seems to have got worse.
I think a thorough service of the power supply and monitor chassis is in order.

Check out the cooling fan - it looks like it could have come out of a Lancaster Bomber or something.
It needs a bit of a clean-up too

I only knew of the bog standard Sega woody.

Will do when I replace this lead which will hopefully fix the camera.

The Sega cab is cool but this one is very funky, it screams fairgrounds of the 80's to me
