If anyone is interested, i would look this up on the newsgroups and
read the threads. Simon has obviously put a lot of time in on this
project from his point of view, but its all originally based on
somoene elses' work.
Also, Simon has been unable to answer critical safety questions by
providing technical data on the core properties and his calculations
for everything...
Although i would say that i don't think there is likely to be a
safety issue, the fact that simon has done inadequate testing concerns
me. If he has done adequate testing, he is unwilling to share results.
There is a big question hanging over core saturation, if Simon can
answer how and when the core saturates, under what operating
conditions, and what the results are then a lot of people would quiet
down.
In order to have carried out a sensible amount of safety testing in
the period of one week since you had the last prototype, i would have
expected that you would have had 5-10 transfomrers running in games
24/7 in different conditions to properly test them, can you provide
any evidence of your testing methods?
I also believe that Simon has fielded most of the questions about
these safety issues with the utmost immaturity and arrogance, and with
scant regard for the members of community that helped get this project
to where it is right now. Not to mention that when asked a technical
question, his response has been to copy and paste answers that he
found by googling, typing mistakes and all.
I read all the threads last night on the newsgroup, and that is my
conclusion... I just suggest everyone else read the threads themselves
and make up your own mind.
Andrew Hannay - please read the threads before adding more fuel to
the fire. Yes it looks like Simon put a lot into this project, but
this is a very critical component that requires a lot more testing
than just measuring voltages with your multimeter.
