I have recapped this, and replaced the TH2 transformer that had gone.
The vertical circuit had a fault causing a flat line across the screen, replaced the IC3 vertical chip and corresponding resistor.
Now I'm left with this.
Any ideas?

Got an image but still slightly rolling, cant find how shift image horizontally yet.
BUT this happen before I could get a photo.
R142 neck board glowed red hot and burned out. What would cause this, just old age or something else. R142 value 1/2 W 5% 560 ohm.

The BF871 at TR34 has almost certainly gone bad, probably shorted, so it's burnt out the 560ohm resistor. The BF871's going bad is a common problem on MTC900/E chassis if they're originals.

Use the horizontal shift control! Sometimes adjusting the horizontal sync slightly can shift the image as well before it loses sync.
Which one of these is the Horizontal Shift?
